The male sockets match (are the same as) what is on the end of the bulb
itself.
The female socket matches the socket on the car that supplies
power to the bulb.
We have several colors of sockets: orange, blue,
dark grey, etc.) if you want to replace your headlight socket that was
damaged/melted, you would want the female socket.
If you want to plug
into your factory headlight socket for a wire harness or to power something
without having to cut off the factory socket you would want the male socket.

9005 and 9006 Comparison
